Editorial policy
Authentic Spotlight aims to make the reasoning behind an explanation visible. Accuracy is more than a confident tone: claims should be supportable, context should not be quietly trimmed away, and uncertainty should be stated when it changes what a reader can conclude.
Accuracy and context
We check factual statements against appropriate, identifiable material and make clear when an article is explaining a general method rather than establishing a particular claim. We distinguish direct observation, quoted material and interpretation. Sources are described in context, not treated as automatically reliable or unreliable because of a label alone.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for reader value and clarity. Commercial relationships do not buy favourable conclusions or control independent editorial coverage. When a relationship is relevant to material, it is disclosed plainly so readers can judge the context for themselves.
Corrections
Readers can report a specific error through the Contact page. We review correction requests, amend verified mistakes and clarify material changes in the affected article. A correction should make the record clearer, not hide that an earlier version was wrong.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid placements and partner contributions are labelled so they are distinguishable from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where that is the case, the image is identified accordingly. Illustrations are not evidence for factual claims.
A strong impression is not the same as strong evidence.
We look at how a message earns attention, where its support comes from and what a careful reader can reasonably conclude.
